Massive Relief at the Pumps: Fuel Prices Slashed Across Pakistan

In a major development for consumers nationwide, the federal government has announced a massive reduction in the prices of petroleum products. The price of petrol has been cut by Rs. 74 per litre, bringing the new price down to Rs. 299 per litre from its previous high of Rs. 373. Similarly, High-Speed Diesel (HSD) saw a steep decrease of Rs. 67 per litre, adjusting the new rate to Rs. 311 per litre.

According to official statements, this massive relief is a direct transfer of falling global crude oil prices and improved regional stability to the local public. Economists anticipate this sharp drop will significantly lower nationwide transportation costs, reduce input overheads for the agricultural sector, and eventually cool down core inflationary pressures on everyday essential items.
